Rishabh Pant has not been selected for Asia Cup 2025 due to a foot injury.
Former Indian cricket team player Aakash Chopra feels that Rishabh Pant is not getting as much reward for his contribution to the Indian team as he should. Aakash says that Pant should also get opportunities in T20.

It is worth noting that Rishabh Pant last played T20 cricket against Sri Lanka in July last year, after showing a brilliant game for the Indian team in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024. But after this, Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma started getting consistent opportunities in the T20 format in place of Pant.
At the same time, due to injury on the England tour, Pant has also not been selected for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025. Meanwhile, former cricketer and well-known cricket commentator Aakash Chopra has been seen strongly advocating Pant’s return to the T20 team.
Aakash Chopra supports Rishabh Pant
Let us tell you that recently through a video uploaded on his YouTube channel, he said – “When Rishabh Pant bats from number 1 to 3, he has scored runs at a strike rate of 156 and an average of 34, which is a good thing. However, we will not talk about the top three. When you look at number 4 to 7, their strike rate is 140 and average is 30. It is still fine.”
Akash further said- “One thing that goes in his favour, and I am very surprised that no one talks about it, is that he was the third-highest run-scorer for India in the T20 World Cup that we won. It is as if the fly has been thrown out of the milk. No one is talking about him. Of course, the IPL not being that good could be one reason, but it is strange not to even talk about it.”
