Earlier this year, ECB head Richard Gold had assured that there would be no interference from team owners in the selection of players. But when no Pakistani male player was selected in the March draft, many questions arose. Some attributed this to scheduling clashes with Pakistan’s tour of the West Indies and the tri-series in the UAE.
Interestingly, the atmosphere in the Superchargers camp will be even more glamorous this time, as star all-rounder Ben Stokes will be present with the team in a mentoring role. The team will be captained by Harry Brook, and the Superchargers’ first match will be played against Welsh Fire on August 7.
The Hundred 2025 Replacements
Even before the arrival of Aamir and Imad, many teams participating in the tournament have replaced players. John Simpson and Dan Douthwaite have joined London Spirit in place of Jamie Smith and Ollie Pope. Apart from this, Mark Chapman has replaced Rachin Ravindra in the Manchester Originals team, Farhan Ahmed has replaced Marchant de Lange and Amurutha Surenkumar has replaced Ella McCon.
