India-Pakistan WCL 2025 semifinal called off: The semi-final match of World Championship of Legends 2025 has been cancelled. This match was to be played between India and Pakistan. After the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April, India is refusing to play against its arch-rival Pakistan. Well, India’s journey in WCL ends here. But Pakistan has entered the final. This was confirmed by WCL by posting a post on its social media account.

WCL 2025: It is worth noting that earlier in this tournament, Indian players have refused to play against Pakistan, which includes veteran players like Shikhar Dhawan, Irfan Pathan, Harbhajan Singh, Yuvraj Singh, Suresh Raina. India had also adopted a similar stance in the group match of the tournament.

WCL 2025: After Operation Sindoor, many top former cricketers of India refused to play against Pakistan in the league match of the tournament. India were scheduled to play Pakistan in the semi-finals of the tournament at Edgbaston Cricket Ground on Thursday. WCL said in its post on X,

WCL 2025: “At WCL we have always believed in the power of sport to inspire and bring about positive change in the world. However, public sentiment must always be respected. After all, everything we do is for our audience. We respect the decision of India Champions to withdraw from the semi-finals, and equally respect the preparation of Pakistan Champions to compete. Taking all factors into consideration, the match between India Champions and Pakistan Champions has been canceled. As a result, Pakistan Champions will advance to the final.”

WCL 2025: EaseMyTrip withdraws name

The co-founder of this travel tech company, Nishant Pitti, had written on his ‘x’ handle, “We applaud Team India (India Champions) for their stellar performance at the World Championship of Legends. You have made the country proud. However, the upcoming semifinal against Pakistan is no ordinary match. Terrorism and cricket cannot go together.”
