But now a case of theft of IPL jerseys has also come to light. This theft case is of India’s most famous Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Jerseys stolen at Wankhede Stadium
Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai is the home ground of the Mumbai Indians team. This theft took place from the BCCI merchandise store located on the second floor of the stadium. The person who committed the theft is none other than the security guard of the stadium, whose age is said to be around 40 years. He stole 61 jerseys of IPL 2025, their cost is above 6 lakhs. In this case, the police have arrested the security manager.
This strange case came to light when BCCI’s internal audit revealed that some items were missing. After investigation, the theft came to light. The accused has been identified as Farooq Aslam Khan. According to reports, he quietly stole an entire carton full of jerseys from the storeroom of the BCCI office. According to the police, the cost of each jersey was around Rs 2,500 and the total cost of all the stolen jerseys is more than Rs 6.5 lakh.

Jerseys stolen due to gambling addiction
When the BCCI came to know about the jersey discrepancy during the audit, the CCTV footage was checked, in which Aslam Khan’s theft was caught. After this, a theft complaint was lodged on June 17. After investigation, the police came to know that Aslam had sold the stolen jerseys to a dealer in Haryana. However, the dealer was not aware that these jerseys were stolen. Aslam had sold all the jerseys to him by lying.
Out of 261 jerseys, 50 jerseys have been recovered. Aslam spent the money he got after selling the jerseys to satisfy his gambling addiction. Police is also getting Aslam’s bank details.
