Rishabh Pant was injured while batting
The vice-captain of the Indian team suffered this injury while batting in the third session of the first day. In the 68th over, Rishabh Pant tried to reverse sweep the ball of Chris Woakes. In which he missed and the ball after lightly kissing the bat hit Pant’s right shoe. Initially it seemed that everything was normal. But the problem was discovered when Pant was seen trying to walk on the field limping.
After this, the physio rushed to the field and started treating Rishabh Pant. When the physio removed Pant’s shoe, blood was seen flowing from above the socks. On removing the socks, it was seen that the part of Pant’s foot where the ball hit was completely swollen.
