According to Geosuper.tv, during the media conference, he targeted former Indian player Shikhar Dhawan. Afridi put all the blame for the cancellation of the match on Dhawan. He believes that Dhawan is spoiling the rest of the Indian cricketers. Afridi said,
Sports brings countries closer. If politics comes into the seeds of everything, then how will you move forward? Things cannot be resolved without dialogue. The purpose of such events is also to meet each other but you know there is always a rotten egg that spoils everything.
Afridi did not stop at this. He said that Dhawan is the cause of embarrassment for his country. Afridi says that if the Indian team did not want to be a part of WCL 2025, then they should have stayed at home. He said,
They had trained a day before the match. The Indian team is also very disappointed. They came here to play. I am telling you a player should be a good ambassador for his country and not be a cause of embarrassment.
