The current holders of the WTC mace also opted to go in with Josh Hazlewood over Scott Boland in the playing XI. This will be the third consecutive final that will take place in England, with the earlier two summit clashes happening at The Oval and Southampton. India had finished runners-up in both the 2021 and the 2023 WTC finals.
