Kuldeep Yadav: The responsibility of the Indian spin department for the England tour will be on Kuldeep Yadav’s shoulders as a specialist spinner. Kuldeep did not get a chance on the Australia tour but now he has returned to the Indian Test team. Former Australian opener Matthew Hayden has given a big reaction about Kuldeep and he believes that this chinaman bowler can play an important role for India in England.

India has given Kuldeep Yadav very few regular opportunities in Tests. However, now after the retirement of Ravichandran Ashwin, he is expected to get more opportunities but for this Kuldeep will have to make an impression in England. Kuldeep does not have much experience of playing in England and has played only one Test so far, in which he did not get any wicket. This time he would like to improve his record.
Hayden called Kuldeep Yadav important for India’s success in England
Speaking at the launch of Australian Cricket Summer 2025-26, Matthew Hayden said Kuldeep has to be a 20-wicket bowler for India in the series. The former Australian opener explained how Australia has a stable spinner in the form of Nathan Lyon and he feels every team should have a reliable spinner in its ranks.
Hayden said, “I am really looking forward to seeing what India brings against England. This is a tough and character testing series of five Tests. We discussed this before – someone like Kuldeep Yadav could be an important 20-wicket bowler for them. We have benefited from Lyon’s consistency, and his absence in the last Ashes showed the impact of losing a reliable spinner. Stability has been common in the best teams of every era.”
Matthew Hayden believes Kuldeep Yadav could be crucial for India in the Test series against England. He could end up with 20 wickets even, according to Hayden.

Let us tell you that earlier former Indian bowling coach Bharat Arun had also made a big claim about Kuldeep Yadav. Arun believes that Kuldeep has the skills to perform in the same way as Shane Warne did in England. Now it remains to be seen how Kuldeep performs in the five-match Test series starting on June 20.
