Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has held a 6-hour long emergency meeting today on 7 June in the Bengaluru stampede case. It is worth noting that after winning the IPL 2025 trophy, 11 people lost their lives while more than 50 people were injured in a stampede outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium during the victory celebration of the RCB team.

At the same time, in view of the seriousness of the matter, the Karnataka High Court took suo motu cognizance to decide on the matter and hear the side of the parties involved i.e. KSCA, RCB, Karnataka Police and DNA Entertainment Pvt Ltd.

Following this tragic incident, a joint resignation of two top KSCA officials, Secretary A Shankar and Treasurer ES Jayaram, reached the association’s office. Both had decided to stay away from the matter citing moral grounds and a day later, the Managing Committee headed by KSCA President Raghuram Bhat accepted the resignation of both the officials after a six-hour emergency meeting on Saturday, June 7.

KSCA President Raghuram Bhat made a big statement

After this emergency meeting on the Bengaluru stampede case, KSCA President Raghuram Bhat said- I had called an emergency meeting of the Managing Committee in which decisions were to be taken. Two of our members, Secretary (A Shankar) and Treasurer (ES Jayaram) have resigned. On moral grounds, they felt that it is not worthy of the post, so they have resigned.

So, this meeting was called, because I had to place the resignation before the committee for acceptance. The committee appreciated their work, whatever they have done for two and a half years. His resignation has been accepted. I cannot say anything more than this, as this matter is in court.

Now this matter is pending in the Karnataka High Court, and the next hearing on the said case will be on June 10. Only after the hearing of the case, Raghuram Bhat will be able to make any comment at the appropriate time.
