Gautam Gambhir Statement on Bengaluru stampede: The celebration of victory has faded for the Indian Premier League 2025 winner Royal Challengers Bangalore. On Wednesday, when this memorable victory was being celebrated at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, 11 people lost their lives and more than 50 people were injured in a stampede outside the stadium. During a press conference held in Mumbai today, Indian team coach Gautam Gambhir expressed grief over the accident and said what is the need to do such a road show. The team has registered a victory, it is enough to celebrate it and if you cannot make proper arrangements then such a program should not be organized.

RCB’s fan base is very strong

There is no doubt that RCB’s fan base is very strong. The team finally managed to capture the trophy after 17 seasons. This is the reason why when the team reached Bangalore with the trophy, lakhs of fans gathered around the stadium to celebrate. The crowd was so huge that it became difficult for the Bangalore police to control it. This led to chaos and a deadly stampede.

“Talking about this incident, Gambhir said, ‘There was no need for such a road show. I believed the same when I was playing. Even after winning the World Cup in 2007, I said that we should not do road shows. Lives are more important and I will keep saying the same in the future. When we cannot make proper arrangements for such an event, then there is no need to organize such events.’

Gautam Gambhir further said

Gambhir further said that the organizers needed to be more conscious while organizing such an event. We can consider organizing such celebrations indoors and we should not have done this. Fans often get emotional, but human life is more valuable than celebrations. According to me, the road show should not have happened.
