Dream11 had signed the contract in July 2023
With the passage of the Online Gaming Promotion and Regulation Bill, 2025, BCCI’s sponsorship agreement with the world’s largest real money gaming company Dream11 has become unstable. BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia said, “After the passage of the Online Gaming Promotion and Regulation Bill, 2025, BCCI and Dream11 are ending their relationship.

BCCI will ensure that it does not have any relationship with any such organization in future.” This deal of 358 crores has been postponed.
Big challenge to find sponsor for India in Asia Cup
Due to the law made after the government banned gaming apps, Dream11 and BCCI had ended the contract between the two. A 3-year contract was signed between BCCI and Dream 11 in 2023, but this agreement was terminated due to the introduction of a new law by the Government of India.
As a result, India does not have any sponsor for the upcoming Asia Cup which will be played in UAE from 9 September. It is a big challenge for BCCI at this time that they will have to select a new sponsor for India in the next two weeks, otherwise India will play this time’s Asia Cup without any sponsor.

Main features of the bill
Some features have been told by the government to increase the knowledge of the people about this new bill:
1) Promotion of money games in all forms is prohibited.
2) Transactions of money related to online games have been banned.
3) Investing money in online games, playing it and selling it in the market will be considered a crime in every way.
