Asia Cup 2025: BCCI has announced Team India for the upcoming Asia Cup 2025 on 19 August.

Asia Cup 2025: Former Indian cricketer and chief selector Chris Srikkanth criticized the selection of Harshit Rana in the Asia Cup 2025 squad, in which he pointed to Harshit’s IPL performance. Srikkanth said that the selection of Harshit Rana at the expense of Mohammed Siraj and Prasidh Krishna in the team is not right. Mohammed Siraj has been performing for the team for a long time, and Krishna also won the Purple Cap in the IPL.

Asia Cup 2025: India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav defended the decision to select Harshit Rana, saying that Harshit Rana’s performance in India’s matches was good. Despite this statement, Srikkanth showed disagreement with the decision to select Harshit Rana and targeted the BCCI.

Asia Cup 2025: Suryakumar had said in the press conference at the time of team announcement, “I think he is doing really well in the IPL and the matches he has played for India. I still remember the concussion replacement match in Pune. I also remember that he was adjudged the Man of the Match in the last T20 match he played for India. So, we support his skills. We know that he has the talent to perform well for India in this format.”

Asia Cup 2025: Chris Srikkanth’s statement on Harshit Rana

Srikkanth questioned on his YouTube channel ‘Cheeky Cheeka’, “Where did Harshit Rana come from? His performance in the IPL was very poor. He is being managed. His economy rate in the IPL was 10. What message are you giving to Prasidh Krishna and Mohammad Siraj?”

Washington Sundar is right for India’s squad, not Shivam Dubey

Srikkanth also gave his opinion on the balance of the team, and said that Washington Sundar is a better option in the team than Shivam Dubey, because recently he performed brilliantly with the ball and bat in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
