Puran has been associated with this franchise since the first season of the CPL in 2013. When he made his debut for the then Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel at the age of 17. Since then he has represented several teams in the league, including Barbados Royals and Guyana Amazon Warriors, before returning to TKR in 2022.

Knight Riders CEO Venky Mysore welcomed the move, calling it a seamless and exciting transition. With Bravo’s strategic acumen from the dugout and Pollard’s constant presence on the field, Puran inherits a richly experienced team, who will try to win their fifth CPL title.

Six years of captaincy
Trinbago Knight Riders have won the CPL title four times. Kieron Pollard took over the captaincy in 2019. In the year 2020, he led TKR to their fourth CPL title. Pollard led the team for six years.
