Canada Under-19 defeated Argentina Under-19 by 10 wickets in the fourth match of the Under-19 Cricket World Cup America Qualifier at ICC in Georgia on Sunday. Canada won this 50-over match in just 5 balls.

Argentina won the toss and chose to bat first at Paramveer Sports Complex (Ground 2). The team was all out for 23 runs in 19.4 overs. The innings never recovered from the initial setbacks and no batsman could reach double figures. Seven batsmen were out without scoring any runs.
On the other hand, 7 runs were scored from extras. Which was their highest contribution in the innings. Fast bowler Jagmandeep Paul bowled a brilliant spell. He took six wickets for seven runs in 5 overs. Paul bowled 3 maiden overs. Other bowlers also supported him well.

Canada team needed 24 runs to win. The team also did not delay in winning the match. Opener Dharam Patel took a run on the first ball of the innings, after which captain Yuvraj Samra hit two fours and two sixes on the next four balls of Franz Boor. Boor also gave three wides in this over, due to which Canada achieved the target with 49.1 overs and 295 balls to spare.
The record could have been broken
This match did not get the status of Youth ODI. If it was an official Youth ODI, it would have challenged the record of the fastest run chase in terms of overs remaining. This record is currently held by Australia Under-19, who chased Scotland’s 22 runs in 3.5 overs in the 2004 Under-19 World Cup.
Canada in strong position
Canada is in a strong position in the America Qualifier. This competition includes Argentina, Bermuda, Canada and hosts America. Each team will play each other twice in a double round-robin format. The top-finishing team will secure the Americas region’s only spot at the 2026 ICC Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup.
