Manoj Tiwari joined the group of cricketers who claimed that Gill tried to copy Virat Kohli’s leadership style by showing aggression on the field. However, the former player claimed that it proved wrong for him as a batsman.
Aggression is affecting Shubman Gill’s batting
On SportsBoom, Manoj Tiwary said,
“I don’t like the way captain Gill is doing things. I think he is trying to do what Virat did last time. And as a result, it is not helping his batting.”
Tiwary also gave the example of IPL and mentioned a particular incident in which Shubman got into an argument with the fourth umpire after a run out. Manoj said,
Shubman Gill never behaved like this under Rohit or Kohli. But as soon as he became captain, all his aggression started coming out.

“Ever since he became the captain in the IPL, I have seen that he has got into an aggressive mindset and talks a lot to the umpires. It was not like Gill. He does not need to show that kind of aggression and neither does he need to prove anything.”
