India has not yet given a chance to Arshdeep Singh in the current series. In the first two Tests, Team India had shown faith in Prasidh Krishna as the third fast bowler. At the same time, Arshdeep had to remain out in the third Test as well. On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav has also been sitting on the bench so far and has not got a chance to play. Captain Shubman Gill and head coach Gautam Gambhir played Washington Sundar instead of Kuldeep considering the depth of batting.

Dilip Vengsarkar talked about playing specialist bowlers
In an interview with RevSportz, Dilip Vengsarkar said,
“I would drop Nitish Reddy and maybe one more player to make room for Arshdeep. I think Siraj and Bumrah should retain their place, but Reddy can be dropped. Kuldeep Yadav can also replace a player like Washington Sundar. You need five bowlers to win a Test match. If your six batsmen are not able to score well, then the bowlers have to take responsibility. You cannot win a Test match with part-time bowlers.”
Vengsarkar further said,
“I would choose Arshdeep Singh and Kuldeep Yadav. Arshdeep is a good left-arm bowler who can move the ball in the air and outside the wicket, which is very important in English conditions. He can also reverse swing the ball, which is important. I have seen him bowling.”
