Gary Kirsten advised Shubman Gill to adopt MS Dhoni’s formula
In an interview with Rediff.com, Gary Kirsten expressed confidence in Gill’s development as a leader. He also urged the batsman to work on becoming a better man manager, in which Dhoni excelled. The former South African opener said,
“These are early days. I think he has great potential. Captaincy is a whole bunch of things that you have to bring together. He is a great thinker in the game. He is a good player himself. But there are many things you have to get right. And I think man management will be important like any leader. Dhoni was a master of this. If Gill can activate this thing as a leader, then I think he has all the characteristics to become a great captain for India.”
