Sanju Samson became the most expensive player sold in the Kerala Cricket League auction
Indian wicketkeeper batsman Sanju Samson has created history by being the most expensive player in the Kerala Cricket League auction. He has become the most expensive player ever in the auction held before the start of the second season. Sanju’s base price was just Rs 3 lakh. However, Sanju was bought by the Kochi Blue Tigers franchise for Rs 26.80 lakh.

Due to the international experience and IPL performance of Indian batsman Sanju, many franchises of the league tried to make him a part of their team, but in this auction, Kochi Blue Tigers made the most expensive bid and included him in their team.
It is worth noting that the Indian wicketkeeper batsman was dropped for the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2024-25. It was reported that the state’s Kerala Cricket Association had expressed displeasure over Sanju not participating in the camp held before the tournament.

However, according to the Indian Express, KCA officials said, ‘Sanju was playing cricket continuously from March to July, after two months of IPL, he was also involved in the T20 World Cup. After the T20 World Cup, he was also a part of the Indian T20 team that toured Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka. It was very tiring for him, so he asked for a break from the KCA. His name was also not included for the players’ auction.’
Vishnu Vinod was the second most expensive player in the auction of the second season of the Kerala Cricket League. The Aries Kollam Sellers franchise made him a part of their team by bidding Rs 13.8 lakh. As an experienced player, Vishnu has also been a member of teams like Royal Challengers Bangalore, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
The third most expensive player in the league went to Jalaj Saxena at Rs 12.4 lakh. An experienced all-rounder and a veteran of domestic cricket, Jalaj Saxena was bought by Alleppey Ripples.
