Wasim Jaffer: Team India is ready to play a five-match Test series against England. The first Test of the series will be played at Headingley, Leeds from June 20. With this series, both the teams will also start their World Test Championship 2025-27 cycle. The Indian team will be led by Shubman Gill.

Wasim Jaffer: Playing against the English team on England soil is not going to be easy for Gill and company. Meanwhile, before the match, former India batsman Wasim Jaffer has selected his playing XI. Jaffer has included Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul as openers in the top order.
Wasim Jaffer: Captain Gill given place at number-4
At the same time, he has suggested giving a chance to one of Ishwaran or Sudarshan at number 3, while including Karun Nair in the middle order. For number 4, the former Indian batsman has given the responsibility to captain Gill. Vice-captain Rishabh Pant will bat at number five and will also handle wicketkeeping duties, while Karun Nair will bat at number six and after that experienced all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been given a chance.
