Dale Steyn:It was a much-needed triumph for South Africa, which endured several heartbreaking losses in ICC tournaments over the past two decades. They finally ended their 27-year wait by lifting the WTC mace last weekend, following a magnificent all-round performance against defending champions.
Dale Steyn:ICC recently shared a reel on its official Instagram handle to give fans a glimpse of the Proteas squad’s photoshoot with the WTC mace. In it, Temba Bavuma and his teammates could be seen sporting shades and formal wear while posing stylishly for pictures. You can watch the video below:

“Gold.”

Dale Steyn:”It’s not easy being the captain of South Africa” – Temba Bavuma on his struggles after becoming the third WTC-winning skipper
“It hasn’t been easy. It’s not easy being the captain of South Africa. And all the sacrifices, all the disappointments — in that moment, it really felt worth it. When you’re going through it all, giving up is always an option. It’s always there, at the back of your mind. But something pushes you on. And for me, it was that moment there.”
“To be recognised as more than just the Black African cricketer — to be seen as someone who’s done something the country has wanted — that means a lot. That’s something I’ll definitely walk around with, with my chest out,” Bavuma added.
Temba Bavuma led his side from the front in the WTC final, playing vital knocks of 36 (84) and 66 (134) in the winning cause.
