E2BET: Ravichandran Ashwin: Dindigul Dragons captain Ravichandran Ashwin has been heavily fined for his outburst and dissent during the Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) match against the IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans on Sunday (June 8) in Coimbatore.
Ravichandran Ashwin: According to Cricbuzz, the retired Indian cricketer has been fined 10 percent for showing dissent towards the umpires and 20 percent for disrespecting the cricketing equipment.
Ravichandran Ashwin: The dismissal occurred in the fifth over of the innings, bowled by left-arm spinner R Sai Kishore. With the right-hander going for the lap shot, he missed the ball completely and it hit his pad, and the umpire raised the finger after some deliberation.
Ravichandran Ashwin: However, the 38-year-old was quite unhappy with the decision and went on to argue with the umpire. The Tamil Nadu-born cricketer hit his pad with his bat while walking towards the pavilion and flung his gloves.
A TNPL official told Cricbuzz:
“There was a hearing conducted by the match referee after the game. Ashwin was fined 10 per cent for showing dissent towards the umpires and 20 per cent for misuse of equipment. He accepted the sanctions.”
Ravichandran Ashwin: According to Cricbuzz, the off-spinner could not be immediately reached out for a comment.
